What’s New in the City of Napa Winter 2024/2025
New Events, Wine Tasting Rooms, Businesses and More.
NAPA, Calif., Dec. 3, 2024 – As winter nears, the City of Napa will host several festive celebrations to commemorate the holiday season. Discover the magic of winter in Downtown Napa with new businesses, wine tasting rooms and events to explore. This winter, here’s what’s new in Downtown Napa.
Lodging Updates:
- River Terrace Inn became Napa’s first California Green Business certified hotel to receive the Napa Green Audit. The Green Lodging pilot program is a relaunch of a rigorous statewide green business certification program. River Terrace Inn is the only hotel in the area to hit on all metrics, including reduced water use, energy conservation and usage of eco-friendly cleaning products.
New Arts & Entertainment:
- The Napa County Historical Society presents “The Valley Beautiful,” a three-part series of exhibits telling the story of how architecture, music and art have enhanced Napa Valley. “The Valley Beautiful: Architecture” is free and open Tuesday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event runs through March 22 at the historic Goodman Library, located inside the Napa County Historical Society.
- WineD Napa‘s Winter Wine-derland passport event takes place Nov. 29 through Dec. 8. Explore Downtown Napa through old favorites and new experiences with this ten-day event. Guests can enjoy over 20 tasting rooms, stock up on holiday gifts, catch up with friends and create new memories! Tickets are $90 per person, plus taxes and fees.
- The original Napa Valley Wine Trolley has announced the return of its highly anticipated Holiday Lights Tour. This experience provides a journey through Napa’s most dazzling and festively-decorated neighborhoods and will be available every weekend from Dec. 6 to Dec. 22.
- Warren Miller 75 Film Tour is celebrating 75 years of ski and snowboard cinematography at The Garden by Tannery Bend Beerworks in Napa. The event will be held Dec. 6 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. General admission tickets are $28.52, plus taxes and fees.
- Holiday Market at First Street Napa will take place Dec. 7 through Dec. 8 from noon to 4 p.m. This annual event, hosted by Napa-area non-profits, will feature a friendly competition with online voting and auctioning, live music, holiday shops, Santa meet and greets and more. This event is free to attend with on-site purchases.
- The Meritage Resort and Spa will host Tinsel Tea with a Princess at Meritage every Saturday from Dec. 7 to Dec. 28. This holiday tradition includes presentations of desserts, scones and tea sandwiches, storytelling hosted by a visiting princess and ice skating. Pricing ranges from $65 to $95, plus taxes and fees.
- The second annual Rail Arts District (RAD) Holiday Market will take place Dec. 7 and Dec. 8 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Action Avenue Projects in the Rail Arts District. Featuring pottery, scarves and other textiles, handmade soap, small prints and paintings, sculptures, succulent wreaths and more, the market brings together creations from 30 artists based in Napa, Sonoma and the surrounding region.
- The Flavors of Film Festival by CIA at Copia will feature various screenings, including “The Truffle Hunters” on Dec. 7 at 5 p.m., “Always Be My Maybe” on Jan. 25 at 5 p.m. and “Uncorked” on Feb. 22 at 5 p.m. Tickets are $165 per person, plus taxes and fees.
- Blue Note Napa has an exciting lineup of performances including Grammy-winning guitarist Norman Brown Dec. 6 through Dec.7, Kellie Fuller and the Mike Greensill Trio for Cool Yule on Dec. 19, at 7 p.m., as well as Vocalist Stella Heath on Thursday, Feb. 1 at 8 p.m.
- The Napa Valley Mustard Celebration will return from January to March. The celebration encourages businesses to create mustard-themed events. As part of this celebration, the Jessel Gallery will be open from Feb. 1-2.
- The Fink will hold an exciting lineup of live music events, including Ronaldo Rodriguez (Ronkalunga) with guitarist Carlos Caminos on Jan. 5 and Smart Fellers Jan. 7. Tickets range from $5 to $10.
- On Jan. 5, Outer Space Wines will host a tasting of A Dozen French Wines, featuring a handcrafted selection of seven white wines and five reds. The tasting will be held Jan. 5 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- JaM Cellars will present singer/songwriter Anthony Presti on Jan. 5 and a JaMSession with Off The Record on Saturday, Jan. 6. as well as local singer and KVYN radio personality James Patrick Regan Feb. 1 from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- It’s a Grand Night for Singing concert at the Jarvis Conservatory at 7 p.m. on Jan. 6, presents three artists chosen by host Frank Johnson. Complimentary wine and snacks will be served at intermission. Tickets are $20 and available at the box office at 6 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.
- Compline will conduct blind tasting classes on Jan. 9 and Feb. 6, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Guests will learn approaches for objectively evaluating the sight, smell, taste and structure of four classic wines, including two whites and two reds.
- Jessel Miller will teach acrylic classes beginning on Jan. 5 with “miniature before masterpiece,” followed by classes on Jan. 10 and Jan. 12. On Jan. 24, and Jan. 26, classes return with “abstracting your view.”
- The Napa Lighted Art Festival will be hosted Jan. 18 through Feb. 16. The event is a celebration of creative arts, technology and lights, to highlight light technology as a growing art medium. This walkable outdoor experience is free in Downtown Napa featuring 10 lighted art sculptures.
- For the month of February, Love in the Afternoon Igloo Picnic on the Village Lawn will be available. The menu includes a choice of sandwich, Ms. Vickie’s potato chips, potato salad, mac and cheese and a cheese and charcuterie board with assorted crackers. Reservations are required 24 hours in advance.
- Downtown Napa will be home to the first-ever Napa Valley StreamFest, taking place April 24 through April 27. The four-day event is pioneering a new type of festival to celebrate podcasts, series, films and social content. General admission two-day passes go on sale on Jan. 17.
- Napa Bookmine will present author Manjula Martin of “The Last Fire Season” on Feb. 1 at 6 p.m. This is a free event, but reservations are encouraged.
- Jacob Philip Benning will be at the Levendi Tasting Room Feb. 2 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Outer Space Wine will host a tasting of wines from Sicily and Sardegna on Feb. 2. 5 to 7:30 p.m. for $25 per person.
New at Wine Tasting Room:
- From Jan. 4 to Jan. 6 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Arch & Tower will host Golden Hour . This event allows guests to sip and savor on their river terrace or in the upstairs lounge while enjoying views of Downtown Napa.
New Food & Drink:
- Ohm Coffee Roastery opened a retail location in the former Monday Bakery space, located at 849 Jackson St #1A. Chef Rachel Williams will bring her Austin-style breakfast tacos to the menu. It is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Tuesday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Downtown Napa area restaurants will participate in Napa Valley Restaurant Week, from Jan. 6-12.
New Business & Shopping:
- The Shop, Ship, and Stroll event will return on Dec. 15 where guests can enjoy exclusive special offers, surprise-and-delights and savings on shopping and sipping throughout the various districts in Downtown Napa.
- J. McLaughlin has opened at First Street Napa. The retailer, founded in 1977, offers men and women’s attire. The store’s hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Napa Zero Proof Tours highlight Downtown Napa’s culinary scene and innovative nonalcoholic libations. Three-hour tours start at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. It’s a two-mile loop that begins at Napa Yard and ends at Oxbow Public Market. The tour costs $195 per person.
New Happy Hours & Menu Updates:
- On the first Tuesday of each month, Fieldwork Brewing Company will host an all-you-can-eat pizza party from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Enjoy deep-dish Detroit-style pizzas for $13, along with a tap room beer selection.
- Oxbow Public Market has introduced a new gift card program. It’s an ideal gift for food-obsessed friends and family, corporate clients and VIP guests and can be used throughout the market or online.
- La Toque’s 42nd annual All Black Truffle Menu will debut on Jan. 5. The tasting menu costs $295. Optional wine pairings are $125. They will also have a vegetarian version of the truffle menu at $200 with an optional wine pairing at $125.
