Napa County Historical Society:The Valley Beautiful: Architecture
The Napa County Historical Society presents “The Valley Beautiful,” a three-part series of exhibits telling the story of how architecture, music and art have enhanced Napa Valley. “The Valley Beautiful: Architecture” is the first exhibit in the series, running through March 22 at the historic Goodman Library in downtown Napa. Presented with Napa County Landmarks, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, the exhibit explores the valley through the lens of architecture, showcasing commercial, residential, educational, governmental and sacred spaces of Napa Valley. The exhibit illustrates changes over time in style and significant details, use and redevelopment. Visitors will learn about the designs of some of the valley’s most prominent architects and the buildings that reflect the aesthetics of various eras. “The Valley Beautiful: Music” will follow in spring with an exploration of music’s role and impact on Napa Valley, The final exhibit, “The Valley Beautiful: Art” will explore art in the valley.
This exhibit is free and open Tuesday to Thursday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
