Discover the Brilliance of Mustard Season

Spring in Napa, besides being a wonderfully sunny breath of fresh air following winter, brings an exciting phenomenon you won’t find anywhere else: mustard season. Fields all around Napa Valley burst to life with brilliant shades of yellow and gold as wild mustard plants thrive, creating a breathtaking display against Napa’s already-beautiful backdrop. New this year to the mustard season festivities is the Mustard Celebration Finale – A Festival of Wine, Food & Art at the CIA at Copia, taking place on March 29th-30th from 10 AM to 4 PM. This ticketed event will showcase the very best of what Napa has to offer, featuring nearly 100 restaurants, food vendors, tasting rooms, artists and more. Tickets start at $55.

As the inaugural Napa Valley StreamFest, which will take place from April 24th-27th, approaches, many lodging properties around Napa are offering special discounts, so you can stay at the heart of the action and save a little, too. This four-day event pioneers a new type of festival, celebrating streaming content with panels, parties, screenings and discussions, all with world-famous wineries as its backdrop. Attendees can look forward to engaging with thought-provoking personalities across various fields, from entertainment and sports to true crime and culture. Andaz Napa, the festival’s partner hotel, is offering almost 50% off for StreamFest pass holders. Further into the season, the Meritage Resort and Spa will offer lodging specials for those attending this year’s BottleRock Napa Valley Festival. Guests who book with the Meritage Resort and Spa will receive a $50 food and beverage credit, a 2 p.m. late checkout and complimentary unlimited shuttle service to the venue.

Dazzling Arts and Incredible Entertainment

As any avid traveler will tell you, attending local events while you visit is a fantastic way to get a true sense of a destination’s soul. In Napa, that’s especially true. From food and wine explorations to live music and festivals, there’s always something exciting around the corner.

For $75, dog owners can celebrate wine, food and furry friends with Pawsport Napa Valley. Purchase a “pawsport” for the month of March and unlock over $1,100 in savings and experiences, with every purchase supporting Napa Humane’s vital programs. Passholders will receive two-for-one wine tastings at participating wineries and wine tasting rooms, dining discounts on select restaurants and special lodging offers.

The Fink, Downtown Napa’s premier cocktail destination, will host various live music events this spring. Upcoming shows include Radio Bobcat (March 20th), Self Proclaimed Heroes (March 28th), The Smart Fellers (March 30th) and more. Cover fee ranges from free to $10, depending on the show.

On March 30th, Azur Wine Lounge will host a Rosé and Clay Workshop with artist Kala Stein. The workshop invites attendees to make one-of-a-kind, functional pottery inspired by her Chateau Sonoma botanical pottery collection. The event takes place from 1-3 PM, and tickets are $95 per person.

The 13th Annual World Cheese Tour classes from Janet Fletcher will include two spring dates. On April 8th, Fletcher will host Undiscovered Italy, which will allow attendees to discover lesser-known gems made by Italy’s finest cheese artisans. On May 23rd, Fletcher will host America the Bountiful, highlighting seven acclaimed American cheeses from seven states. Classes take place from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Winston’s Café. Cost is $80 per class; $225 for any three classes.

Throughout the month of April, WineD Napa will host Spring Splashes. This event features more than 30 wine tasting rooms, which will offer two splashes of wine at each location. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to StreamFest Society, the Nonprofit 501(c)3 behind the inaugural Napa Valley StreamFest. Spring Splashes tickets are $90 per person and valid through April 30th.

Art in the Grooves, the group art show at Folklore that began in 2024, is being extended until May 1st. This exhibition is available to view daily during business hours with the intent of giving local artists visibility and the opportunity to sell their art, and to reuse vinyl in a positive way. The event is free, but purchasing art is strongly encouraged.

The CIA at Copia’s Flavors of Film Series celebrates the rich connection between food and film with immersive events that combine movie screenings with themed dining events. Film screenings include “The Goddesses of Food,” “Common Ground” and “Always Be My Maybe.” Tickets are $165 per person, per event.

As part of the CIA at Copia’s Flavors of Film Series, The Reel Taste Film Festival will honor outstanding achievements by creators who use their skills to showcase food, culture and the arts from May 1st-4th. This four-day event will include culinary showcases that feature interactive cooking classes and pop-up brunches, lunches and dinners with top chefs and wine and beverage experiences with experts.

The annual BottleRock Napa Valley Festival, presented by JaM Cellars, is set to take place at the Napa Valley Expo May 23rd-25th. This year, headliners include Green Day, Justin Timberlake and Noah Kahan. One-day general admission tickets begin at $233. Tickets can be purchased at BottleRockNapaValley.com.

Following BottleRock Napa Valley, the 2025 Festival La Onda will take place at Napa Valley Expo May 31st-June 1st. Festival headliners include Marco Antonio Solis, Banda MS, Pepe Aguila, Carin León and Grupo Firme. General admission tickets begin at $218 and VIP tickets begin at $448. Weekend El Mirador tickets begin at $1,487 and weekend Platinum tickets begin at $3,618. Tickets can be purchased at LaOndaFest.com.

Festival Napa Valley presents the Taste of Napa at the Meritage Resort and Spa on July 12th from noon to 3 PM. This annual signature tasting event celebrates Napa Valley’s bounty, combining live music with exceptional food and wine. Guests can sample fare from wineries, breweries, restaurants, culinary artisans, and craft beverages.

The Blue Note Jazz Festival will bring The Black Radio Experience back to the Meritage Resort and Spa from August 29th-31st. More than 30 artists and passionate music lovers will come together to celebrate jazz, hip-hop, R&B, spoken word poetry and live DJ sets. The lineup will be released in April, with hotel packages available now.

Sip and Savor: New Culinary and Wine Offerings

If there’s one thing Napa’s known for, it’s the food and wine scene. With many restaurants taking a seasonal, farm-sourced approach to their menus, each season brings a new wave of incredible dishes, paired, of course, with crisp bubbles, lush whites and rich reds.

Sumo Dog, a new addition at Oxbow Public Market, takes the classic American hot dog and redefines it with Japanese ingredients, inspiration and tradition. It is the brainchild of Jeffrey Lunak, a veteran of “Iron Chef” Morimoto’s Restaurant Group and the opening executive chef of the highly-regarded Morimoto Napa. Sumo Dog explores the combinations of the American classic with a heavy nod to the Japanese Izakaya.

March 18th-22nd is Wild Game Week at Napa Valley Bistro. Wild Game Week features various specials from Chef Bernardo, served along with the regular menu. Wild Game Week specials include wild mushroom soup, pan-roasted Dungeness crab cakes, house-smoked wild king salmon and more.

Proper Plates now serves brunch from 8 AM to 2 PM at Ohm Coffee Roasters on Sundays. The chef’s special changes each week, but you’ll also regularly find mouthwateringly good paninis, classics like avocado toast and much more.

By popular demand, ramen has returned to Kitchen Door for dinner only. Cozy up with a steaming bowl of curry ramen featuring a coconut curry base, Thai-glazed shrimp, a six-minute soya egg, scallions, bean sprouts and, of course, perfectly chewy noodles.

Gott’s Roadside brought back its popular chicken parmesan sandwich, mozzarella sticks and pistachio shake for a limited time, through April 2nd. The chicken parmesan sandwich features crispy fried chicken, mozzarella, parmesan and pesto on an Italian roll. The mozzarella sticks are breaded, topped with parmesan and served with tomato sauce. The pistachio shake is made with hand-spun pistachio ice cream, organic milk, chocolate syrup, whipped cream and pistachio pieces — the perfect treat for springtime.

A brand-new pop-up shop, Kollar Chocolates launched on First Street. The pop-up experience offers a blend of classic European chocolate-making and modern culinary artistry. Chocolate flavors include red wine, pistachio amaretto, lavender, passion fruit, sunflower seed praline and Earl Grey tea. The shop is open 11 AM to 7 PM Friday through Sunday.
