Pianist-composer Forrest Eimold, the 2025 Maria Manetti Shrem Daniel Brewbaker Composer Prizewinner, takes center stage at CIA at Copia’s Ecolab Theatre in an admission-free recital celebrating the piano works of Gordon Getty. A brilliant interpreter and creator, Eimold has had works premiered by esteemed ensembles such as the Choir of Trinity Wall Street, Ensemble Dal Niente, and the Mivos Quartet. His unique artistic voice blends tradition with innovation, making him the perfect performer to bring Getty’s lyrical and expressive compositions to life.

Canadian pianist Jaeden Izik-Dzurko brings his unique musical voice to Festival Napa Valley’s Bouchaine Young Artist series at Bouchaine Vineyards. Winner of the 2024 Leeds International Piano Competition, has been recognized for his expressive artistry, technical mastery, and musical depth. The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation named him one of the ‘30 hot Canadian classical musicians under 30,’ and he has been celebrated as an artist who “stands apart” (Bachtrack). He has performed with leading orchestras and in major concert halls worldwide, earning acclaim for his compelling interpretations.
Festival Napa Valley Presents Flicka at Jarvis Conservatory
Beloved opera superstar Frederica von Stade takes center stage in a different way in Flicka, a documentary that follows her journey beyond the opera house. Through archival performances and intimate reflections, the film explores her enduring impact as an artist, mentor, and humanitarian. With insight from Renée Fleming, Susan Graham, and Jake Heggie, Flicka reveals how von Stade channels her passion into community activism and education, bringing music to underprivileged students and unhoused individuals. Flicka pays tribute to both her legendary voice and boundless generosity. The screening will be followed by a Q & A with von Stade and members of the film’s creative team.

Few film scores capture the magic of cinema like Ennio Morricone’s Cinema Paradiso. This beloved coming-of-age classic follows a filmmaker reflecting on his childhood in a small Sicilian town, his love of movies, and the mentor who shaped his passion (played by Philippe Noiret). Directed by Giuseppe Tornatore, the 1988 masterpiece won the Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film, along with the Grand Prix du Jury at Cannes. It is widely considered one of Italy’s greatest films and one of the most successful foreign language films of all time. Composed with his son Andrea, Morricone’s unforgettable score infuses the film with nostalgia and emotion.
