What’s New in the City of Napa Summer 2024 

New Events, Wine Tasting Rooms, Menu Updates and More.   

NAPA, Calif., June 25, 2024 The City of Napa is gearing up for a summer filled with excitement, new experiences and local events. Visitors can expect a calendar packed with enticing events, culinary creations bursting with local flare, and so much more this summer. Whether you’re a seasoned traveler to Downtown Napa or planning your first trip, here’s what’s new in Downtown Napa this summer.   

New Arts & Entertainment: 

  • The Napa Valley Community Market will occur at Napa Yard at Oxbow Gardens every second and fourth Thursday of the month. Organized by Scarlata Farms, vendors will sell local produce, foods and goods. While vendors are still being added, ones that can be expected include B & B Gardens Bougie Candles Brigachero Buttercup Farms Cassidy Ranch Custom Greens Microgreens and more. The event is pet-friendly and free to attend.  
  • This summer, Outer Space Wines is home to Dog Day Afternoon, which takes place the first Saturday of each month. Spend the day with your dog, and enjoy a delicious glass or bottle of wine paired with a snack. Dog Day Afternoon will run the first Saturday of each month until Oct. from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. 
  • Blue Note Napa will again host its Summer Sessions Concert Series, in partnership with The Meritage Resort and Spa. Events will take place at The Meritage Resort and Spa with performances by Gregory Porter, Brian McKight, Chris Botti, Tash Sultana and more throughout the summer.  
  • Ackerman Heritage House will continue their Social Afternoon Tea Ceremonies into the summer. Immerse yourself in dainty tarts, savory bites, seasonal house-made butter and premium teas served on authentic, unique China and sterling silver. Summer Social Afternoon Tea Ceremonies will take place June 22, June 23, Aug. 17 and Aug. 18 
  • Every Friday in July, Veteran’s Park will host its Friday Nights in the Park concert series. From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., sit back, relax and enjoy the life performances of two bands per night. The lineup includes bands like Second Street Band and Soda Canyon Band (July 5), People of Earth and Dennis Johnson (July 12), Thru The Haze & The Humdinger Band (July 19) and more.  
  • Join the City of Napa for an extravagant Fourth of July celebration that showcases the city’s patriotic spirit. On July 4, enjoy a day filled with family-friendly activities, including a parade, kids’ zone, live music and more. At 9:30 p.m., watch as 400 drones create a stunning light show with 3D displays at Oxbow Public Market. 
  • Festival Napa Valley will return July 6 through 20. While events take place throughout Napa Valley, visitors in Downtown Napa can enjoy free live concerts at the CIA at Copia, including a Novack Concert for Kids, Bouchaine Young Artist Concert and more. Festival Napa Valley aims to engage audiences with programs that innovate, uplift and inspire.  
  • The Napa County Historical Society’s Historic Downtown and Tulocay Cemetery tours will run this summer on select dates. The Historic Downtown tours take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on July 12 and Aug. 9, or from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 11. The Tulocay Cemetery tour takes place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on June 28, July 26 and Aug. 30, or from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 28 and Sept. 1. These tours are guided and last approximately 90 minutes.  
  • On July 28, the SoFi Battle of the Bands will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The South of Financial (SoFi) District is an area of Downtown Napa with independently owned and operated businesses. There will be three stages on the street with more than 14 Porchfest-famed bands performing throughout the day. This is a free event open for all ages to attend, with food trucks, wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks available for purchase.  
  • The inaugural Oxfest will take place at Oxbow Public Market on Aug. 17 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. The festival will feature the best of Oxbow Public Market with live music, art exhibits and unique food and drink. This free event is open to individuals of all ages and provides an opportunity to explore everything the district has to offer.  

New Wine Tasting Room: 

  • Michael Pozzan Wine Tasting Room is now open in Downtown Napa at 1207 Randolph Street. The tasting room is offering two tastings per day at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. from Monday through Saturday. A Classic Tasting is $25 and a Reserve Tasting is $40. Reservations are required.  
  • The brand-new wine speakeasy, Bonita Bonita Wine, is now open Thursday through Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 1207 Coombs St.  
  • Popular Santa Barbara winery, Fess Parker Winery, plans to open a location in the former Brendel tasting room on First Street. The Santa Barbara winery was started by the late Fess Parker, who became famous for playing Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone. Official opening date is TBD.   

 New Food & Drink: 

  • The CIA at Copia is hosting a World Pizza Tour from June to November. Each week will feature a different gourmet pizza at The Grove Restautant, including options like Napoletana, Roman Taglio, Sicilana and more. To reserve your spot, visit CIAatCopia.com. 
  • Taquería Maria opened a brand-new outdoor bar at 640 Third Street. The bar features ample seating along the Napa River. The menu offers an array of selections like mini nachos, ceviche, tacos and enchiladas that can be paired with drinks like a Cadillac margarita, piña colada, tequila sunrise and more.  
  • Stateline Road Smokehouse is opening again in July. Enjoy delicious fare from Michelin-trained Chef Darryl Bell, including brisket, ribs, smoky half-chicken and burnt ends.  
  • Biscuits BBQ, a former barbeque pop-up, is coming to Downtown Napa on Pearl Street. Local Brett Schaublin, former sous chef at Redd under the tutelage of esteemed Chef Richard Reddington, is set to offer sharing plates.  
  • Cousin’s Corner Bar will replace Ox & the Fox at the corner of First Street and Franklin Street Chuck Meyer and Michael Holcomb will take over the space in partnership with Meyer’s Napa Palisades Saloon management group to open the new bar. Cousin’s Corner Bar will focus on community, cocktails and light bar bites inspired by classic bar appetizers. The bar will include music and entertainment with friendly, inclusive service, casual with a great wine list, generous classic cocktails, fresh mocktails and a well curated craft beer list. Grand opening date is TBD.  

New Happy Hours & Menu Updates:  

  • Trade Brewing now offers Bingo and Sushi Night from Sushi Monkey every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.  
  • Be Bubbly now offers Sunday brunch. This brunch menu features bagel sandwiches, caviar-topped frittatas and Southern biscuits and gravy made by Chef Ariana Sallay. Brunch offerings can be paired with a glass of bubbles, or a mimosa or Bloody Mary as Be Bubbly now has its liquor license.  
  • The Slanted Door is now serving lunch and dinner seven days a week. Lunch is now served from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., with dinner from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will also be happy hour deals from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. with small bites, beer, wine and cocktails. 

Transportation Updates:  

  • On May 1, the Wine Country Airporter began round trip shuttle service to SFO. This service will allow for four trips each way from the Marriot/ Cost is $69 from SFO to the Marriott, $59 to the American Canyon Library, $39 and $29 for those under 14 years old and or above two years old.
