Simon Family Estate
Simon Family Estate opens tasting room on third floor in Napa: Family-owned Simon Family Estate has opened a tasting room on the third floor of the building by Napa Creek next to the Opera House in downtown Napa. Vincent Vitale broke the story in the Press-Democrat. The new tasting room is in a historic building that was once part of the Napa Opera House. The Simons are Armenian Christians who fled Saddam Hussein’s Iraq and developed a successful diverse portfolio of companies. They developed a love of wine on visits to wine regions overseas. In 2007, they began making their own wine at Napa Valley Reserve, where they remain members. After 15 vintages of sharing their creations with friends and family, the couple launched the Simon Family Estate label in 2019, hiring Maayan Koschitzky as their winemaker. Koschitzky had farmed vineyards in his native Israel before moving to Napa Valley. He has made wines for Screaming Eagle, Dalla Valle and Atelier Melka, where he continues to serve as director of winemaking. The tasting room is open by appointment only https://simonfamilyestate.com/reservation/
