The Azzurro Pizzeria Experience

Azzurro Pizzeria is one of Napa Valley’s most popular spots for authentic, thin-crust pizza pies, delicious Italian pasta specialties, seasonal salads, and hand-picked West Coast wines. Guests can also enjoy their own wine, with a $20 corkage fee.

With a focus on simple, high-quality, fresh Italian cuisine, Azzurro’s offers a friendly, casual experience. Their pizzas are made using a wood-burning brick oven pizza. Starters include seasonal antipasti selections and fresh salads. The kitchen is known for its classic Italian dishes and homemade pasta, like spaghetti, butternut squash fusilli, or spinach orecchiette.

For dessert, customers can enjoy rotating specialties like buttermilk panna cotta with local honey, chocolate polenta cake, and the always available Straus Family organic soft serve ice cream, with homemade chocolate or caramel sauce.

Azzurro’s Pizzeria has both outdoor and indoor seating, and takeout.

Azzurro Pizzeria’s Story

Azzurro Pizzeria opened in the heart of downtown Napa in 2001.  Michael and Christina Gyetvan were early supports of the growing Downtown Napa community, launching their first restaurant, Pizza Azzurro, here on Second Street.

They quickly outgrew their initial space and in 2008 rebranded the eatery as Azzurro Pizzeria & Enoteca. (enotecta is Italian for “wine shop”) and relocated to a larger, beautifully designed space on Main Street, at the northern end of Napa’s restaurant row, where they operate today.

Building on their success, the Gyetvan’s opened a second restaurant—Norman Rose Tavern—that has become a cornerstone of Napa’s West End District, steps away from Azzurro’s original location.
