How Downtown Napa is Giving Thanks this Holiday Season

There are so many things to be thankful for this season. From exciting events to businesses growing and changing, Downtown Napa has flourished over the past year. Instead of diving into what we are thankful for, we decided to ask those who are at the heart of it all to tell us a little bit about their Thanksgiving traditions and what they are grateful for this holiday season. So, sit down with a glass of Napa Cabernet, and discover a little more about the people and businesses that make Downtown Napa a wonderful place to be.

Angèle Restaurant & Bar Gives Thanks

Take a stroll and wander into Angèle Restaurant & Bar. This restaurant brings simple, delicious cuisine and warm hospitality from the French countryside right to Napa.

We are thankful to have had the opportunity to be a part of the Napa food scene for seventeen years,” says Kelly Mitchell-Jacks, manager “We have seen Napa change and grow and are so thankful to be here and be a part of such a great community. We have seen a lot of growth in Napa over the past year. As a business, you have to keep an eye on the trends and changes to always bring something consistent but new to the table. We have been able to bring on an amazing new chef that has brought our food to a great place and we have seen the opportunity to be able to do a few events away from the restaurant in order to bring Angèle to you. As well it seems like there is a new comradery growing amongst the business to join together and make it a special place.”

What is Angèle’s favorite tradition?

I think for us sitting around the table with friends and family and enjoying the meal is the best part. As a business, we have decided to open for the last few years. It has been a great experience for us, the staff and the guests we meet.”

Passion runs deep in {f|h} farmhouse, a home decor and interior design studio located in the heart of Downtown Napa. Owner Kristin Maher says {f|h} farmhouse is “thankful for the time we will get to spend with family all together. This last year has been a whirlwind adding the lifestyle boutique to the business but it has been so worth it! I love all of the locally-owned shops and restaurants in Downtown Napa. It’s so fun to be a part of this community.”

What does her favorite Thanksgiving tradition look like?

“My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is definitely making pies the day before with my mom and grandmother, and now my niece.” Yum!

Located on Second Street in Downtown Napa, Blue Water Day Spa provides a wide range of services for when you need a self-care day. From massages to facials, you will come out feeling totally relaxed and ready for the holidays.

On January 1st of 2019, we opened our doors at our new location, 1763 Second St,” says Kimberly “We have more treatment rooms and are now offering Natural Nail Care Service. This year we are thankful for our amazing new location, our wonderful staff, and our faithful clients. The past few years have been hard on the Napa Valley but during these times I am reminded that the locals still support one another and that this is still a magical place to live. Downtown is home to me. As it’s grown and changed throughout the years, there’s still bits of old Napa left. Where Old and New Napa converge, that is my favorite part. At Blue Water we start switching into holiday mode, offering seasonal body treatments and holiday Gift Certificate Sales. Purchase on Black Friday and receive 50% off! This year on Small Business Saturday we are having an open house with a raffle for our 24k Glow Package that includes a 24-Karat Facial, a Vanilla Bourbon Massage, and our Escape Manicure and Pedicure. On Cyber Monday, book any service through January 30, 2020, for a 50% service discount. Fall in Napa has always been my favorite time of year, and this year is no different.”

Looking for a spot to grab your next caffeine fix? Napa Valley Coffee Roasting Company is your spot! Modeled after European cafes, this unique spot serves up signature blends for all who step inside.

“Downtown Napa has become a great destination for visitors and locals. Over the past year, we have seen foot traffic increasing to our corner of First and Main,” says Doug. “I am thankful for a wonderful group of loyal employees and friendly, thoughtful customers. We have amazing customers that ask about our day, bring in food, treats, homemade cookies and flowers. We are very appreciative!”

What does Napa Valley Coffee Roasting Company love about Downtown Napa?

“Once getting Downtown, everything is within walking distance. You can grab a coffee, walk over to Palisades for a beer and garlic fries, hop a block and grab some delicious ribs at Bounty Hunter and a shot of bourbon, snag another coffee, walk up the street to Andaz to finish off the evening with a cocktail and great view!” It sounds like the perfect day to us.

I know we said we weren’t going to share what we’re thankful for, but what we’re thankful for is you! Our business owners, locals, visitors and all those who participate in this community make Downtown Napa shine. We hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your loved ones.
