The Legendary Wailers at the Blue Note
The Blue note presents the Legendary Wailers featuring Junior Marvin on Saturday, Sept. 9, at 6:30 and 9 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 10, at 3 and 6:30 p.m. Marvin was born in Kingston, Jamaica and moved to London as a child. He appeared in The Beatles’ film Help, followed appearances on British television. He was also a member of the London cast of the musical Hair. Marvin continued his apprenticeship in America, playing with T-Bone Walker, Billy Preston and Ike & Tina Turnert. On February 14, 1977, he joined Bob Marley & The Wailers as lead guitarist and toured with the Wailers until Marley’s death in 1981. Since then, he has released four CDs with The Wailers Band and been featured on many albums by others. After touring with many incarnations of The Wailers since Bob Marley’s passing, he has stepped out to front his version of The Wailers.
