The Girl in the Photograph by Colette Jean at Bookmine
Colette Jean, author of The Girl in the Photograph, will be at Bookmine on Thursday, Sept. 26, from 6 to 7 p.m. It’s a story told entirely through poetry. Colette Jean says, “The Girl In The Photograph is based on the life experiences of a woman who sat for many hours with me on the rough wooden chairs of a coffee shop. “We travel back to her early adolescent years and watch as the rest of her life unfolds during her struggles to find herself and her purpose. If you take nothing else from this book, I hope that at the very least it encourages you to talk to people in your community. Everyone has a story.” Jean grew up in Napa Valley where she wrote The Girl In The Photograph at 18. She now studies English and philosophy at Sonoma State University and aspires to be a professor of moral philosophy. Register at www.napabookmine.com.
