Where To Celebrate Thanksgiving:

Napa Valley Wine Train: Though the Napa Valley Wine Train loads passengers in Napa, it’s for the whole valley, at least up to St. Helena. Its special Thanksgiving menu is both a gourmet feast and unique setting in which guests enjoy a journey through Napa’s fall landscape. The day begins with a splash of sparkling wine.  The Thanksgiving menu starts with carrot ginger soup with crème fraiche, followed by roasted Diestel Farms turkey with Spanish chorizo and herb stuffing, all prepared to order on the train. Angèle:  Angèle deviates a bit from the classic American menu for a Provençal Thanksgiving feast, but it still offers turkey as an option. The menu is three courses:  Canapés (choice) • County Line chicory salad, toasted walnuts, roasted butternut squash, artisanal French goat cheese, red wine vinaigrette, herbs de Provence • Potato leek soup, Perigord black truffles, créme fraïche Main course (choice) • Roasted heritage turkey, traditional stuffing, potato gratin, roasted Brussels sprouts, gravy, Bettina’s Mom’s cranberry sauce • Classic boeuf Bourguignon, carrots, onions, button mushrooms, potato purée Dessert (choice) • Warm apple pecan bread pudding, vanilla bean ice cream • Pumpkin tart Mignardises, chocolates The cost is $130 per person. Bear at Stanly Ranch: Bear at Stanly Ranch serves its second annual Thanksgiving dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Enjoy a five course prix fixe menu with your selection of appetizers and main courses with holiday classics like mashed potatoes and sourdough stuffing.  3  Separate vegan and gluten-free menus will be available including stuffing. • Starter – heirloom squash soup • Shareable appetizers – persimmon salad and baked brie • Choice of main course – Wild salmon, prime beef striploin or heritage turkey • Choice of dessert – apple pie or pumpkin pot de creme The price is $125 for adults ($90 wine pairing available) and $50 for ages 6 to 12. Charlie Palmer at the Archer: Charlie Palmer Steak will serve a classic three-course Thanksgiving feast from 4 to 8:30 p.m.:  First course (choice) • Butternut squash soup with whipped cream fraiche and pepitas  • Mixed green salad with cranberry vinaigrette and, pepitas  Second course  Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and gravy plus candied yams Third course (choice) • Pecan tart with whipped salted caramel • Pumpkin pie with cranberry compote and whipped cream The price is $85 per person. The Meritage Resort: The Meritage Resort offers three options for Thanksgiving meals: Thanksgiving Brunch at the Meritage Thanksgiving Brunch is served at the Meritage from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  It offers a huge variety of choices from eggs Benedict to classic roast turkey and every imaginable treat from chilled seafood to popular main courses like pork chops and salmon.  See the list and reserve at  The cost is $95 for those over 13, $45 for 4 to 13 and free under 4.
