Spyro Gyra at the Blue Note

The Blue Note presents Spyro Gyra on Saturday, Aug. 23, at 6:30 and 9 p.m. In 2024, Jay Beckenstein and band started its observation of the 50th anniversary of the band.  It began when Beckenstein and a few musician friends in Buffalo, N.Y., organized a get-together on their shared night off from working in bands that made money.  Fast forward 50 years, and this jazz super group has released more than 30 albums, garnering gold and platinum along the way.
