Spike Sikes at JaM Session

Spike Sikes appears at JaM Cellars Studio on Friday, April 4, from 9 to 11 p.m.  Sikes grew up in El Paso, studied jazz at the University of North Texas, started The Spike Band in 2004, recorded three albums with them, joined the Coast Guard in 2008, continued playing music wherever he was stationed (Maine, NorCal and New Orleans). He formed the Awesome Hotcakes in 2014.  His music goes by many names: soul, swing, R&B, blues, jazz and jump. Sikes has spent years searching for this sound.
