Solo show by Jeannette Fradella at Folklore
Jeannette’s work was such a smashing success for the initial Art In The Grooves that we asked her to do her own show. Jeannette uses the vinyl canvas to present some of the world’s most iconic musicians in a beautiful and shimmering way.
Jeannette Fradella’s choice to work with multiple mediums, comes from her experience as a tribal belly dancer with its layered and bejeweled costumes and her love of textiles, including vintage lace from the 20s and 30s, even the tattered, torn and grungy.
She likes strong, bright colors and prefers making art that has energy, vibrancy and movement. “It does something for me. It makes me feel good”
Her color and material choices reflect her desire to create without limits. To exercise this freedom to include all of the materials she is attracted to and to consider all of the creative possibilities, brings her the most joy.
Her subject matter is rooted deeply in her music-filled history and celebrates the artist whose music she likes and has grown up with.
She freezes in time that moment the artist steps up to that microphone, and creates an enduring connection with the audience.
With her beautiful paintings, Jeannette brings that same energy and connection to this space and reminds us that some moments can last forever.
