Papa Joe & the New Deal at Blue Note

The Blue Note presents Papa Joe & the New Deal on Thursday, Nov. 30, at 8 p.m. Vallejo’s Papa Joe & The New Deal was born out of a get-together of two seasoned musicians, Papa Joe Lucero (guitars and lead vocals) and Ed Rillera (keyboard and vocals). The band features six to nine pieces and is in demand throughout Northern California. With a strong rhythm section of Elias Lucero on bass guitar and vocals, Dave McClure on drums and John Duarte on percussion, and lead vocalists Lani Parker, Janice Dispo and Selia Lucero, Papa Joe & the New Dealers takes listeners through time with popular tunes from the past 50 years, but always with their own twist of funk and soul.
