Sibling Soundscapes: Jarvis Conservatory presents The Cruz Trio with Sibling Soundscapes on Saturday, June 21, at 7 p.m. The Cruz Trio From American Canyon is a classical piano trio group featuring Julian, Jasmin and Jett Cru. They have studied music since they were young and have been extensively involved in their local music programs. Sibling Soundscapes marks their debut as a sibling trio yet serves as a farewell concert as all three siblings are parting ways for future endeavors. Tickets are $20.

Cowboy Junkies at the Uptown
JaM Cellars presents an evening with the Cowboy Junkies at the Uptown Theatre celebrating 40 years on Thursday, June 19, at 7:30 p.m. In 1988, Cowboy Junkies proved that there was an audience waiting for something quiet, beautiful and reflective. The Trinity Session stood out in the midst of the flash and bombast that defined the late 80s. The now classic recording combined folk, blues and rock and went on to sell more than a million copies. Formed in Toronto in 1985 with siblings Michael Timmins on guitar, Margo Timmins on vocals, Peter Timmins on drums and Michael’s lifelong friend Alan Anton on bass, the band has sparkled over the course of 29 albums. Cowboy Junkies’ will be performing a career-spanning show, including their newest album, Such Ferocious Beauty.

Violet’s Paradise Tasting with Brenae Royal at Compline
Brenae Royal pours Violet’s Paradise wine at Compline on Thursday, June 19. Royal started her career at Gallo, and became the vineyard manager for Gallo Monte Rosso Vineyard, then became director of vineyard operations for St. Supéry Vineyards & Winery before transitioning into vineyard consulting, while launching her own wine brand, Violet’s Paradise named after her vineyard dog, Violet Mae. Her winemaker is Marc Gagnon, who was head winemaker at Bryant Family Vineyard and assistant winemaker at Screaming Eagle. He is now director of winemaking for Caldwell.
