One of the great love stories in literature, Otello is second of Verdi’s three Shakespeare operas. Jonas Kaufmann performs the role of Otello, baritone Ludovic Tézier is Lago and soprano Rachel WillisSørensen is Desdemona. Adrian Noble’s staging moves the action to circa 1900, stripping it of its historical context and emphasizing the inner world of the main character and his emotional disintegration, his Otello becomes a psychological thriller.
