Opening Day on the River

The Napa Riverfront is hosting its inaugural ‘Opening Day on the River’ on Saturday, May 2nd from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM — a free, family-friendly afternoon featuring gondola rides, Duffy boat rides, traditional Hawaiian outrigger canoe demonstrations with the Ohana Hawaiian Outrigger Club, a live DJ, Napa’s first-ever Gondola Race, and more.

Designed to become an annual community tradition, the event is free and open to the public, with participating shops and restaurants open all afternoon along the waterfront.

Event highlights
12:00 PM — Dock’s open, let’s go!
The party launches with balloons, a live DJ, and the Main Street Dock buzzing with energy. Free gondola rides begin on a first come, first served basis — so arrive early!

12:30 PM – 4:00 PM — Free gondola, Duffy boat & outrigger canoe rides

Glide along the Napa River in style, compliments of Napa Gondola. Guests can enjoy complimentary gondola and BoatNapa Duffy Boat rides throughout the afternoon and soak in scenic river views. Joining us on the dock is the Ohana Hawaiian Outrigger Club, who will be offering rides and demonstrations of their traditional Hawaiian outrigger canoes — a unique and memorable addition to the day’s festivities.

1:00 PM — The Great Gondola Race

The highlight of the afternoon: Napa’s first-ever Gondola Race. Watch skilled gondoliers compete on the river while cheering from the waterfront with a drink in hand from one of the Riverfront’s many restaurants.

All day — Shop, dine & explore

Riverfront shops and restaurants will be open all afternoon. Guests are encouraged to stroll the waterfront, grab a bite, and discover everything the Napa Riverfront has to offer.
