Mardi Gras Night at the Blue Note

The Blue Note Locals Night on Wednesday, Feb. 14, celebrates Mardi Gras with The King Street Giants at 6 p.m. Sonoma County-based King Street Giants have brought their own special version of New Orleans music to the Bay Area. They are Casey Jones on clarinet and tenor sax, Jason Thor on trombone, Joey Archieon on trumpet, Nick Pulley on Sousaphone, Dan Charles on banjo and Dylan Garrison on drums. While continuing to play the music of their heroes (Louis Armstrong & The All Stars, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Thelonious Monk), they have also been writing original music to continue to evolve the idiom of traditional New Orleans jazz.
