Kingston Trio at the Blue Note
The Blue Note presents The Kingston Trio on Sunday, Oct. 20, at 6:30 p.m. That brings back memories. I was already a fan of folk music when I went off to Davidson College in North Carolina in 1958, the year the Kingston Trio’s “Tom Dooley” launched the modern folk music movement. Tom Dula, as the locals pronounced his name, was hanged only 20 miles away in Statesville (where my daughter Chris was also born). He might not have killed Laurie Foster, BTW. Maybe her jealous sister did. Blue Note, 1030 Main St., Napa, www.bluenotejazz.com/napa
