Jarvis presents A Night at the Opera
Jarvis Conservatory brings the classic film A Night at the Opera to its screen on Saturday, Feb. 10, at 4 and 7 p.m. A Night at the Opera is the Marx Brothers spoof of the opera world, as a penny-ante promoter promises to arrange entrance into high society for a wealthy dowager if she donates $200,000 as a patron of the arts. Filmed in 1935, directed by Sam Wood and remastered in HD, this is the comedic trio’s finest work. It contains plenty of gags and music. Watch for the famed “stateroom scene,” where untold amounts of people squeeze into tiny quarters on a ship. Tickets are $15.
