It’s A Grand Night For Singing at Jarvis Conservatory
Jarvis Conservatory presents five Bay Area singers, along with pianist and host Frank Johnson, in It’s a Grand Night for Singing on Saturday, June 3, at 7 p.m. Michelle Cipollone will return with arias from Mozart’s Così fan tutte and Andre Previn’s A Streetcar Named Desire. She will join Anne Richnavsky in the duet “Sull’aria … che soave zeffiretto” from Marriage of Figaro. Richnavsky will sing a grand aria from the Biblical tragedy Hérodiade by Jules Massenet, and the “Trees on the Mountain” from Carlisle Floyd’s Susannah. Christa Durand will sing “Tornami a vagheggiar” by Handel, and “Nun eilt herbei” from the Shakespearean opera, Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor. Jill Morgan Brenner will sing an aria by Richard Wagner and a moving aria from La Gioconda. Durand and Brenner will present “Mira, o Norma” from Bellini’s Norma. Andrew Cedeño will offer Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart’s “Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered” from Pal Joey. Cedeño will also sing “Heaven’s Light,” which Alan Menken composed for Disney’s Hercules. Sheri Mignano Crawford will play the accordion before the concert and during the intermission when complimentary refreshments are served.
