It’s A Grand Night for Singing at Jarvis

Jarvis Conservatory presents its monthly feature, “It’s A Grand Night for Singing” on Saturday, March 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. Each program features professional vocalists as well as promising professional talent of tomorrow. Singers from all over the San Francisco Bay Area (and beyond) perform excerpts from opera, musical theatre, cabaret and zarzuela.

The performers:

• Paul Dab, piano – A San Francisco-based pianist, music director and educator, Dab collaborates with top Bay Area opera companies and music organizations.

• Sylvia Whitbrook, soprano and host – A performer with a love for storytelling, Whitbrook’s experience spans musical theater, concerts and national showcases.

• Jill Morgan Brenner, dramatic soprano – Hailed by the San Francisco Chronicle for her “vivid tone and expressive elegance,” she is a rising star in opera.

• Larissa Lorenz, soprano – A dedicated opera singer and music educator, Lorenz’ mission is to make classical music accessible to all.

• Melena Moore, mezzo-soprano – With a voice described as “smoky, strong and velvet-rich,” Moore brings warmth and drama to every song she sings.

• Charlie Whitaker, mezzo-soprano – A musician with a experience in composition and performance, Whitaker blends classical training with a modern edge.

• Molly Larsen-Shine, soprano – A performer with a bright, sparkling voice, she has starred in lead roles at 6th Street Playhouse and Spreckels Theater.

• Aimee Ouellette, soprano – Returning artist Ouellette’s performances are graceful and hilarious. She will honor St. Patrick’s Day with Irish music.
