The CIA Copia is excited to have Matt Horn—named Food & Wine Magazine’s Best New Chef, owner of Horn Barbecue in Oakland, CA, and author of the book, Horn Barbecue—join us for a day dedicated to barbecue and blues outside in the Jackson Family Wines Amphitheater.
Barbecue found Matt just as much as Matt found it. A self-taught pitmaster, Matt Horn got his start experimenting in his grandmother’s backyard, ultimately creating a style of barbecue that fuses his southern roots, his imagination, and some west coast flare. From farmers’ markets to his wildly popular pop-ups, Matt Horn has introduced a new food movement that draws from those roots in Texas and the South.
Come celebrate this American classic and learn more about the traditions and roots of true barbecue from one of this generation’s best pitmasters. Each ticket includes access to the day’s activities, barbecue, and two drink tickets. The day includes:
