Gretchen Menn Trio and Daniele Gottardo play the Blue Note on Thursday, Jan. 12.
Menn holds a BA in music from Smith College where she studied classical guitar. Her musical interests span centuries and genres: Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Stravinsky, Ravel, Django Reinhardt, Jimmy Page, Frank Zappa and Jeff Beck.
She is the guitarist and a founding member of Zepparella, the Led Zeppelin tribute band, and has performed as a solo artist throughout the U.S. and in guitar festivals in Switzerland and Germany.
Italian guitarist and composer Daniele Gottard has developed a reputation worldwide, not only for his virtuosity and versatility, but also for the depth and sophistication of his compositions, which blend electric guitar and chamber orchestra.
