Fascinated by Fungi: Dr. Gordon Walker at Compline Restaurant

Compline Restaurant welcomes back Dr. Gordon Walker of @fascinatedbyfungi for a presentation about fungi and mushrooms of Napa Valley, followed by a communal fourcourse, foraged mushroom-themed dinner by Chef Jammir on Friday, March 8, at 6 p.m. Walker is a PhD biochemist who studied wine fermentation at UC Davis and is now exploring the wild world of mushrooms, molds, and more on @fascinatedbyfungi. His mushroom foraging has grown a cult online following and he’s currently writing his first book about mushrooms for Penguin Random House. The menu • Warm mushroom salad • Mushroom and Dungeness crab cakes • Mushroom “Wellington” with porcini jus • Brown sugar cheesecake with candied mushrooms Tickets are $135 per person.
