Eggcorn and Sophia Corinne at Napa Valley Distillery

Napa Valley Distillery presents Eggcorn with singer-songwriter Sophia Corinne on May 16 from 7 to 10 p.m. Eggcorn is the moniker of Lara Hoffman, a musical therapist in Napa. She assembled her band exploring an orchestral rock flair with Ali Gummess (violin/vocals), Karen Moran (electric viola/guitar), Kyle Stringer (bass guitar/synth) and Peter Craft (drums). Hoffman describes the band’s music as “a lo-fi intergalactic soundscape, often starting with a mini ‘90s Yamaha keyboard and electronic beats and gradually layering syncopated vocals, celestial synths and fuzz bass juxtaposed with sprinkles of guitar.” Corinne’s songs witness the raw difficulties and joys that every heart bears.
