Chenin Blanc at Cadet

Cadet Wine & Beer Bar will pour Chenin Blanc wines on Wednesday, Sept. 3, starting at 5 p.m. From the 1960s through the 1980s, Chenin Blanc was one of the most widely planted varieties in the Napa Valley, valued for its high yields, bright acidity and versatility.  After falling out of fashion in the ‘90s and being replaced by varieties considered more lucrative, Chenin Blanc has recently experienced a resurgence, and Cadet shares some producers and their examples of this vibrant, enjoyable grape.  Folks from Culture Wine Co., Maitre de Chai, Hammerling, Fine Disregard, Sandlands and L’Envolee will be pour their Chenin Blancs and show why this resurgence is afoot.   Cadet Wine & Beer Bar, 930 Franklin St., Napa
