Our March selection is Sweden Oscar submission and a prize winner at Cannes: Cairo Conspiracy. We played Tarik Saleh’s film The Nile Hilton Incident a few years ago.
The film will open at the Jarvis Conservatory on March 18th and at the Orinda theatre on March 24th.
Synopsis: Adam, the son of a fisherman, is offered the privilege to study at the Al-Azhar University in Cairo, the center of power of Sunni Islam. Adam becomes a pawn in the conflict between Egypt’s religious and political elites.
