C Casa Opening Party
There’s an interesting new place to shop in Oxbow Public Market, but it’s not in the main hall or the annex. It’s in C Casa in the formerly mostly wasted space between the entrance and the restaurant dining room. The new pop-up carries attractive Mexican and other tableware, plus gourmet items. It also offers food to go, including the tacos and other items that have been available from the counter there. The C Casa Market will be serving breakfast tacos, rotisserie chickens, cooked meats, fresh salsas, fresh tortillas made in house and Margaritas to go. It is bringing back the gluten-free pastries it used to sell (everything at C Casa is gluten free). C Casa is also resuming serving breakfasts and will be opening at 8 a.m. for the market as well as restaurant. They will open officially on Friday but an opening party is on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. You can check out the new market and chef Rogelio Garcia will be on-site signing his new cookbook, Conviver, while C Casa will be serving his fried chicken tacos from the book. Casaritas will be $5. That’s reason enough to stop by but remember, Christmas is coming… C Casa, Oxbow Public Market, 610 First St., Napa, www.myccasa.com, 707-226-7700
