Big Blu Soul Revue comes to the Blue Note on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 8 p.m.
Big Blu Soul Revue brings the soul of San Francisco to the live stage, with ‘60s and ‘70s soul, funk, rhythm and blues. The band was influenced by Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Etta James, Bill Withers and others. Their latest release, Tongue & Groovin’, displays the band’s love of classic sounds with a fresh and dynamic approach.
The band celebrates their 10-year anniversary in 2023. It was formed by longtime Bay Area guitarist/vocalist Jason Movrich. The band is composed of a tight group of topnotch musicians, featuring vocal powerhouse Lydia Walker.
