Meet artist Andrea McCoy Harvey at Be Bubbly on Sunday, April 2, from 2 to 6 p.m. in celebration of its Be Generous Campaign honoring Black Female Project. She prefers to use her hands to create portraits of African American women. Her work is an ode to the “magic” and beauty of Black women standing strong amid difficult times. Harvey earned her bachelor’s degree in art education from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, an HBCU. Her work has captured the attention of the de Young Museum in San Francisco.
