A night of Napa Valley songwriters at Napa Valley Distillery

The Hollywood Room of Napa Valley Distillery presents songwriting duos Dawn & Tony (featuring Michael Frecskes) and Sativa January on Friday, May 31, from 7 to 10 p.m. Dawn and Tony are a couple who live in Sonoma and spend their days working in Napa. Dawn Angelosante has keen pop-sensibility and a passion that shows in her songwriting and performing. Her voice wraps her lyrics into a beautiful dreamscape Sativa January and Tricia Lewis Dawn & Tony Michael Frecskes of sound and story, touching on love, friendship, heartbreak and self-reflection. Tony Gibson’s songwriting style brings infectious melodies to honest lyrics. His music is familiar in feel and his lyrics paint vivid portrayals of real-life experiences. Also on the bill is Sativa January, a local Napa Valley singer songwriter, originally from Austin, Texas. Sativa January writes indie dreamfolk songs and performs in the San Francisco Bay Area. In March of 2023, she released her first single, “Lightning and Fire,” with harmonies from vocalist Victoria Raybourn and Tricia Lewis on cello. Sativa is working on an album titled Blood Essential, which depicts a journey of triumph through the wreckage of emotional and societal upheaval. The vulnerability and propulsive hooks in these 12 songs remind listeners of The Cranberries, Mazzy Star, Cat Power and PJ Harvey. The $5 cover goes to the artists.
