A bird’s eye view at Cadet

Cadet Wine Bar features Blackbird Vineyards on Wednesday, April 16, at 5 p.m. Blackbird Vineyards was founded in 2003 with the goal of producing wines from merlot grapes. The name merlot is thought to be a diminutive of “merle,” the French word for “blackbird,” likely referring to the dark color of the grapes.  With Aaron Pott at the helm and a 10-acre vineyard in Oak Knoll planted to Merlot, Blackbird has built a array of wines made in the style of those from Pomerol.  Their team will pour a rosé and some red wines.
