24 Hours in Mexico City – Compline Restaurant
“To get to know a city you have to walk it and you have to eat it,” – Salvador Novo, Mexico City’s greatest chronicler.
Partnering with Frida Kahlo’s great-great nephew, Chef Diego Isunza Kahlo, Napa’s Compline Restaurant is bringing this sentiment to life with their upcoming ‘24 Hours in Mexico City,’ an interactive dinner series. For three consecutive evenings, Thursday, February 8th through Saturday, February 10th, Chef Kahlo will present an 8-course tasting menu: his love letter to Ciudad de México.
One of Mexico’s most creative culinary talents, Chef Kahlo is bringing this gastronomic mecca, his hometown, to Compline. Through the 8-course meal, guests will be taken on a tour of Mexico City’s vibrant neighborhoods, tasting unique dishes from each one. Representing 24–hours in the city, the menu will start and end with breakfast. Guests will be provided with a map to follow their journey through the CDMX. Chef Kahlo will be guiding the experience, sharing personal stories with every dish.
“I present a menu in which, from breakfast through my midnight cravings, I will create a tour without respecting purisms or traditions imposed by the gastronomic police. These are the places, memories and flavors that in a very personal way have left a mark in my memory, in my heart and surely, in the size of my pants.” – Chef Diego Isunza Kahlo
Reservations are $125 per person with the option to add an international wine pairing.
A growing culinary hotspot, many venture long flights to eat their way through Mexico City. Come early February, you can satiate this hunger with a trip to Napa. Please share news of Compline and Chef Kahlo’s incredible culinary event with your audience.
