About Petit Soleil Cafe

Tucked in a quiet neighborhood in downtown Napa, the cafe’s cheerful vibe, mismatched dishes, and colorful décor make Petit Soleil feel like a true hidden gem. The cafe was born out of Trena Madrigal’s lifelong dream of owning a restaurant that fit seamlessly into her family life. A longtime Napa resident and hospitality professional, Trena always envisioned a cozy spot focused on breakfast and lunch — hours that worked around her four children’s sports and family activities.

In October 2022, she found the perfect spot when she took ownership of Petit Soleil, a quaint space previously owned by Napa restaurateur Terry Letson. Since then, Trena has infused the cafe with her own vibrant energy, creating a welcoming atmosphere that has earned recognition as one of the best breakfast spots in Napa.

The Food at Petite Soleil

Petit Soleil’s menu reflects a love of comfort food made from scratch, with fresh ingredients and thoughtful twists. Chef Sonia Cuevas Flores keeps things creative in the kitchen.

Breakfast favorites like huevos rancheros come nestled in a homemade tortilla bowl with house-made roja and tomatillo salsa, while scrambles, omelets, and Benedicts (including a keto-friendly version on ham and veggies) are local staples.

At lunch, the grilled chicken sandwich on homemade focaccia with pesto aioli and signature Petite Burger top the list of crowd-pleasers. Nearly everything is made in-house, and the rotating specials keep regulars coming back to see what’s new.
