And with so many events planned all over the state, we wanted to narrow your focus by suggesting the perfect destination: Napa.
Napa is the ideal place to celebrate California Wine Month. Grapes absolutely thrive in our Mediterranean climate of warm days and milder cool nights and so will you. With over 60 tasting rooms within walking distance, you’ll never run out of reasons to sample a fine selection of Napa Valley wines. Vintners Collective
Step through the doors of a former saloon-turned-brothel — now one of Napa’s most unexpected tasting rooms. Housed in one of the oldest buildings in Napa, a National Landmark built in 1875, Vintner’s Collective pours bottles for a select group of small, family-owned Napa wineries. Careful attention to detail, tiny productions, and access to top vineyards in Napa and Sonoma are the hallmarks of their small wineries. Walk-ins are welcome. Expect an unpretentious atmosphere and great wine finds located just off Main Street in downtown.
An approachable wine bar and bottle shop owned by husband-and-wife duo Thad and Emily Duprey. Housed in the space where Thad first fell in love with wine 18 years before opening the shop, this spot highlights the “hidden side” of wine country by showcasing ultra-small, independent producers, with many making fewer than 200 cases per year, alongside select international bottles like German wines in a friendly, community-focused space.
Located in the Oxbow District on First Street, Mark Herold Wines has a long, rich history in Napa. Renowned winemaker Mark Herold created signature cabernet Merus in his home garage back in 1998. After selling Merus, he opened his tasting room and the rest is history. This is a Downtown Napa institution. Don’t miss it.
Put this world-famous tasting room on your must-sip list for California Wine Month. Sit at the breathtaking bar surrounded by modern art from the owner’s private collection, then choose from thousands of miles of pinot. They source the best pinots from vineyards all across the West Coast. The results are spectacular.

Sip and spin vinyl at Folklore, a friendly, music-filled tasting room located blocks from the Uptown Theatre and the Napa Music Hall. Compline Restaurant & Wine Shop
Founded by two Master Sommeliers, Compline is a gathering place for wine lovers in the heart of First Street Napa. The restaurant offers a seasonal menu crafted to pair beautifully with its extensive, expertly curated wine list, while the wine shop features hundreds of bottles kept at perfect cellar temperature. Visit for dinner, explore the shop, or stop by for one of their many events throughout the week.
