Earth Signs

Taurus (April 20 – May 20), Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22), Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19)

Stable, practical, reliable and definitely stubborn, earth signs like being pampered and indulging in worldly pleasures. Good food and perfectly paired wine are all they really need to be happy. Not that you have to stop there, but it’s definitely a great start. This group can also be very artistic, so anything that lets you create with your hands is ideal.

Where to Eat: Head to La Toque. This Michelin-star restaurant will feel like a splurge and your extra acute senses will revel in every exhilarating note and flavor.

What to Do: Le Painted Grape combines incredible wine and charcuterie with a hands-on painting class for a delightfully sensory experience. A cooking class at CIA Copia would be another fantastic choice for earth signs. Their culinary artists are planning a Mediterranean course for you to prepare in their next class.

Air Signs

Gemini (May 21 – June 20), Libra (Sept. 23 – Oct. 22), Aquarius (Jan. 22 – Feb. 19)

Analytical and detail-oriented, air signs love order and figuring out puzzles. Being fairly logical, they tend to think clearly without being emotionally clouded. They also are very sociable, so big group activities can be especially enjoyable, especially if it involves art and culture, which they love to analyze and be critical of.

Where to Eat: C Casa is an innovative little Mexican restaurant that air signs would love. Chow down on their unique, artisan tacos, house-made tortillas, fresh salsa and interesting sides. Then hang out and gab with the locals in this lively little spot right off of the Oxbow Public Market.

What to Do: Take the Fieldwork Brewing Company beer flight where you can analyze all the different flavors and brews to decide which one suits your palate. Trivia Tuesdays at The Grand Reserve at The Meritage will combine two loves, brain power and great friends, with different themes and prizes every week.

Water Signs

Cancer (June 21 – July 20), Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 22), Pisces (Feb. 22 – March 20)

Deep, intuitive and a little mysterious, water sign people tend to be the creative type like artists, musicians, stylists or chefs. Unlike fire signs, they tend to be more reserved, preferring smaller groups and quiet, contemplative spaces or somewhere they can enjoy really great music.

Where to Eat: An intimate dinner at Angele where you can dine on French cuisine overlooking the Napa River would be ideal. Or you could try Ristorante Allegria, a charming Italian restaurant in an interesting, 1916 historic building.

What to Do: Blue Note Napa has the perfect water sign vibe. This jazz club is also a gourmet restaurant on the first floor of the Napa Valley Opera House. It’s an intimate spot where you can immerse yourself in world class music and drown your senses in a cool, calm atmosphere with excellent food.

You might also check out the Napa Artwalk. It’s a self-guided tour so you can go at your own pace and contemplate eight amazing sculptures right here in Downtown Napa.

Fire Signs

Aries (March 21 – April 19), Leo (July 23 – Aug. 22), Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21)

Passionate, creative and very emotional, fire signs are known to consume life, taking it all in. They can also be fairly competitive and are natural leaders that are quick to take action. Active, rather than passive activities will be more attractive, as will any team-based activities where they can scratch that competitive itch and let their inner leader emerge.

Where to Eat: An inspiring restaurant like Morimoto will delight fire signs. Their ever-changing selection leads to innovative cuisine with the freshest seafood available as well as locally grown fruits and vegetables.

What to Do: On Mondays from 7-8 PM, Be Bubbly holds their weekly trivia night and their sparkly wine will be a lively option fire signs will appreciate. You could also head out kayaking along the Napa River. Enjoy Napa Valley offers tours and rentals to fit all skill levels, and it’s a chance to tap into your competitive, inner leader.
