Bazán Cellars

Immigrating from Oaxaca, Mexico to the Napa Valley in 1973, Mario Bazán started as a farmworker in the vineyards working for some of the valley’s most prestigious wineries. He worked through the ranks and went on to oversee operations at iconic vineyards including Opus One and To Kalon before starting his own vineyard management company. Mario’s passion for growing high quality grapes inspired him to create wines with strong farming roots.

Gloria Bazán moved to Napa in April 2005 from Michoacán, Mexico, and together with Mario began the journey of winemaking. Bazán Cellars launched with the inaugural vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon harvested in October 2005. With a refined portfolio of wines, they opened the Bazán Cellars Tasting Room in 2019.
