New Sculptures Chosen for ARTwalk Downtown

A group of 15 sculptures will become the latest to adorn downtown streets for two years beginning in June, organizers of the Napa ARTwalk exhibit announced.

At Tuesday’s City Council meeting, city and exhibit planners unveiled the pieces that will be displayed for the program’s fourth edition, which runs through May 2017. The exhibit will feature the work of artists from six western states, including the Napa artist John Bonick, who will contribute “Vine Vessels,” a cylindrical creation from steel, wire and grapevine cane.

Unlike the first three outdoor exhibitions, the latest ARTwalk will have no central theme, a step taken to open the display to a wider variety of sculptors, Jennifer LaLiberte, the city’s economic development manager said. Read More…
