Kayakers Tour Downtown Napa by Water

Most tourists stick to dry land when they tour downtown, but not the group assembled Saturday morning on Riverside Drive near the Napa Valley Yacht Club.

Donning life jackets, they had signed up for a two-hour Napa River tour by kayak.

“None of us are here for a race today,” said Justin Perkins, who ownsEnjoy Napa Valley. “If anybody is here for exercise, you can do circles around the rest of us. That’s OK!”

Andrea Leon, a first-time kayaker from Fremont, was among those joining Perkins on the river. She signed up for the tour with her fiance, Gene Borunda of Belmont. “He loves the water,” she said as Perkins helped Borunda settle into his kayak.

For the next two hours, as fishermen watched from the riverbanks, the group paddled along Riverside Drive and Brown Street, before heading upstream to downtown. Read More…
