Package Details

Ackerman Heritage House. A quintessential Queen Anne Victorian home, an important part of Napa’s downtown history. A lot purchased by Sarah Hayman and her husband for the grand sum of $10 in gold coins in 1888. After various changes in ownership over the years, former tech entrepreneur Lauren Ackerman saw potential in what was then a dilapidated mess and painstakingly restored the faded grand home to its original splendor. Explore the historic Ackerman Heritage property in all of its “period-correct” glory, each art piece, each antique tells a unique story, from the silver flatware and the antique china place settings to the 1880s era books on the shelves. You’ll be greeted for a cocktail reception with a tour, period-correct hors d’oeuvres and acclaimed wines from Domaine Carneros, Ackerman Family Vineyards, and Lloyd Cellars.

After an elegant glimpse into the Victorian Era, return to the Wine Train for your gourmet Victorian period meal with Lauren Ackerman and winemaker Rob Lloyd. Your meal takes you on a journey through time, the Wine Train takes you on an exclusive passage through the spectacular Napa Valley. Explore and discuss with the winemakers how these combined flavors elevate both the wine and food to a whole new level. Savor every sip and every bite as you travel through the stunning twilight.

First Course
Welcome aboard the luxurious car 1052, a stylishly restored vintage 1915 Pullman rail car. To start, Mousseline of Pacific Smoked Salmon, dill crème fraiche, Hackleback caviar, sea salt crisp paired with Lloyd Cellars Carneros Chardonnay, a big, rich California Chardonnay.

Second Course
Mahogany table tops, leather and velvet upholstered seating, finely appointed restored vintage hardware and mirrors. And your second course, Sautéed Woodland Mushrooms, lemon thyme, flaky pastry, Madeira pan jus, perfectly paired with Le Chatelaine 2013, a Bordeaux red blend with depth and firmness.

Third Course
One taste of Porcini Dusted Short Rib of Beef, risotto Milanese, braised cipolini onion, brussels leaves, and foie gras butter paired with Alavigna Tosca 2013, a light bodied red, and you’re in for the highly sensory experience of pairing gourmet ingredients with Ackerman Family Vineyards wines.

Fourth Course
The best for last? Maybe. We like to think the entire experience ranks pretty highly. But your Wine Train journey sure does come to an end on a very delicious note: Spring Berry Crisp, graham crust, mascarpone mousse, and candied pine, with the complex and balanced Cabernet Sauvignon 2006.
