Hal Yamashita Winemaker Dinner

Hal Yamashita Napa presents a winemaker dinner featuring the chef’s Shin-Washoku cuisine with Layne Family Wines at the Feast It Forward Outdoor Dining Series on Saturday, Aug. 8 at 5 p.m.

It’s part of the S.O.A.R. Support Our Area Restaurants series.

Reception:
– Beef croquettes of braised Wagyu beef and potato, deep-fried with bread crumbs
– Tuna tartare with truffle oil, parmesan cheese, Japanese senbei crackers
– Wine pairing: Rosé of Merlot

Dinner:
– Salmon carpaccio of King Salmon with chives, kombu powder, sesame seed, sliced onion with ponzu.
– Wine pairing: 2016 Pinot Grigio
– Uni Maki – two pieces of Japanese uni wrap with Wagyu beef and Ossetra caviar.
– 2016 Chardonnay
– Robata-grilled miso-marinated black cod, yuzu miso, parmesan, bottarga powder.
– 2016 Pinot Noir
– Robata-grilled Snake River Farm Wagyu strip with yakiniku (Japanese BBQ sauce), dashi cucumber pickle with wasabi.
– 2015 Cabernet Dessert is seasonal Japanese sorbet and Genmai matcha tea.

The price of $150 per person includes tax and gratuity, wine and outdoor seating of socially distanced parties up to six people at same table.
