The Gluten Intolerance Group will sponsor the Generation GF Teen Summit at The Culinary Institute of America at Copia in Napa June 30-July 1.
The gluten-free Teen Chef Camp for teens aged 13-18 living gluten-free will be an immersive culinary adventure under the direction of CIA chefs.
The camp involves two days of hands-on learning in CIA’s professional kitchen where campers will gain cooking skills for gluten-free meal preparation, including selecting and using gluten-free ingredients and kitchen safety.
Under the guidance of CIA chefs, students will work in teams to produce gluten-free meals to enjoy and share.
Afternoons will include educational sessions on topics important to teens as they mature and an introduction to GIG Cares, a separate nonprofit organization whose mission is to fight food insecurity, while promoting gluten-free education and advocacy.
The program fee is $950 per teen and $150 per parent to attend afternoon educational sessions only.
