CIA alumna Katianna Hong: Favorites Around the Kitchen Table

CIA alumna Katianna Hong, ’05, will cook at home for the Around the Kitchen Table live cooking demos series on Nov. 8.

Hong has worked as a chef at The Charter Oak and as chef de cuisine at The Restaurant at Meadowood, where she was the only female chef de cuisine in a U.S. Michelin three-star restaurant. She has been honored as San Francisco Magazine’s Rising Star Chef and as one of Food and Wine Magazine’s Best New Chefs.

She will be joined by chef John Hong, who realized he belonged in the kitchen after a short stint in college. He graduated from culinary school in Chicago and worked at three Michelin-starred Alinea before moving west. When he landed in the Napa Valley, he worked his way up at The Restaurant at Meadowood to become the chef de cuisine. In 2016, he was honored by the Asian Business Association as Chef of the Year.
