Cabernet Classic

Cabernet Classic is Napa Valley’s Premiere Event focused specifically on Cabernet in all varieties.

The three-day gathering will bring together master sommeliers, wine fans, industry experts and wineries to celebrate Napa Valley’s most renowned variety.

  • The weekend kicks off on Friday afternoon with a lunch featuring wines from Chile’s Lapostolle.
  • Then, an expert panel will lead guests through Cabernets from Penfolds, Gaja, Chateau Pichon Lalande and Heitz.
  • The night will conclude with a winemaker-led dinner featuring Cardiff ScottRobinson and the wines of Paraduxx.
  • On Saturday, the Cabernet Retrospective tasting seminar will focus on how the variety develops secondary and tertiary complexities over time. Participants will taste 12 Cabernets from the 2004 to 2018 vintages.
  • Daou Vineyards will then treat guests to a Lebanese-inspired lunch that will showcase wines from Paso Robles.
  • In the afternoon, the grand tasting will take place on the lawn with wines from more than 30 wineries from Napa Valley and beyond while sampling light bites.
  • The final tasting, Around the World with Cabernet, will be after brunch Sunday. Members from the SommFoundation will virtually transport guests to vineyards around the globe.

The weekend featuring lunches, dinners and tasting experiences is $1,650 per person. Participants who buy the weekend pass will receive access to taste gems from producers such as Taittinger, Dominus, M. Chapoutier and Tertre Roteboeuf. Day passes and tickets for individual experiences are also available. In honor of the event, $30,000 will be donated to the SommFoundation, a nonprofit organization that assists in the education of people working in the wine industry with accreditation and scholarships.
