Why You Need to Do Napa in Cabernet Season

As fall approaches, Napa welcomes Cabernet Season. From mid-November through April, Napa transforms, and visitors are welcomed with a slower, more intimate atmosphere filled with personal experiences around every corner. Here’s a round-up of some of our favorite experiences this time of year.

But First, Wine

Get personal with the local vintners who just wrapped up their busy harvest season. The Napa Valley is home to lots of artisanal wines, many of which are exclusive to the 38 tasting rooms in Downtown Napa. Visit 10 of them, all within walking distance from one another, for only half the price with the Downtown Napa Wine Tasting Card.

Culinary Adventure

Cabernet Season is the ultimate time to treat yourself to seasonal bites, comfort food and fine cuisine.

Plan to snag a spot at one of the Michelin-starred restaurants like Kenzo or La Toque.

Enjoy a generous discount to the Gourmet Express Lunch (available every Monday through Sunday) on the Napa Valley Wine Train in celebration of their 30th anniversary.

Or perfect your own cooking skills for upcoming holiday festivities by taking a class at the Culinary Institute of America at Copia. Learn the best-kept and tried-and-true techniques of making holiday dishes and pies, treats and cocktails from top culinary experts to share with your family and friends.

Picture Perfect

There’s a new mural in town! Bay Area-based artist Morgan Bricca painted a 70-foot long mural on the wall of the Beckstoffer Building located on First Street Napa. The mural features five farm structures and a woodblock-style imprint of the Beckstoffer seal, bringing the natural world into an urban environment.

Be among the first Instagrammers to post an artsy photo of yourself against the mural.

Exhale

Stay centered and in tune with yourself at Napa’s unique yoga events. The Meritage Resort & Spa is bringing back a popular Candlelight Yoga Social and smoothie tasting to their underground Estate Cave on Oct. 21. And The Grand Reserve at the Meritage invites you to experience an outdoor gentle flow yoga class and wine tasting every Saturday.

Plan your next trip to the City of Napa to recharge and take in the beauty of Cabernet Season (and re-stock your wine fridge)! Many lodging properties around town also offer special packages during Cabernet Season. For example, you can enjoy discounted rates when you visit during the Napa Valley Film Festival in November. Sounds like a good excuse to get away soon, doesn’t it?
