Calling all foodies…mark your calendars for Napa Valley Restaurant Week 2018! This weeklong event comes to Napa January 21 through 28, and some of the best and most delicious restaurants around the city will welcome diners to enjoy specially crafted, fixed-priced menus during lunch and dinner all week long. (If you are so inclined, you can quite literally dine out for every single lunch and dinner of the week!)
Lunch prix-fixe menus will run $20 per person, and dinner prix-fixe menus will be $36 or $46 per person, depending on location. Many restaurants will also feature wine pairings perfectly selected to accompany their Restaurant Week menus.
From casual and family fare to Michelin-rated dining and seasonal cooking, some of Napa’s most popular establishments, such as Basalt, and a number of brand new restaurants, including the Charlie Palmer Steak House, are participating.
One of the week’s most enticing menus comes from ALBA at the River Terrace Inn. This three-course dinner will begin with porcini mushroom bisque or a field greens & beets salad topped with Bing cherries and a sherry vinaigrette. For the main course, diners have a choice of grilled pork chop, cedar plank salmon or grilled vegetable caponata. A bright, flavorful key lime pie with graham cracker-macadamia nut crust will complete the meal.
Diners looking for a more casual approach to end a day of wine tasting can check out a low-key, but fun restaurant like Filippi’s Pizza Grotto, with a $36 dinner menu that is a bona fide Italian feast: a cheese pizza, two salads, two spaghetti lasagna combos and a carafe of house wine.
