Brew it Up in Downtown Napa

While it seems impossible that anyone would come to Napa with plans to drink anything other than wine, we have to admit that the craft brew craze exists even in wine-centric Napa – and our local beer scene is pretty fantastic! Whether you’re ready to take a break from the fruit of the vines or you are traveling with a beer lover, the City of Napa is on point when it comes to brewing local beers.

For those who want to sip on something hoppy, here are some of Downtown Napa’s best breweries.

Fieldwork Brewing –  Founded and based in Berkeley, Fieldwork Brewing recently opened up a trendy taproom at Oxbow Public Market. With a rotating tap list that always offers something fresh, Fieldwork is one of the best spots in town to grab a pint or tasting sampler. The Fieldwork crew also allows guests to bring in outside food to enjoy with their beer so you can savor some local fare, too!

Downtown Joe’s – While it’s well-known for delicious food, you may be surprised to find that Downtown Joe’s is pouring some of the best local beer in town. This Napa establishment has been around since 1993 and actually operated as a microbrewery before expanding into a restaurant. Downtown Joe’s was one of the first local breweries that helped build Napa’s modern-day craft brew scene. Insider tip: Ask for a tour of the brew house!

If you find a cold microbrew calling your name after sipping wine all week or weekend, you’ll have plenty of options to choose from Napa’s excellent breweries. Make your next trip to Napa an overnight visit, with wine tasting one day and beer tasting the next!
