Do Something New In Napa

The City of Napa has been expanding and growing for the better part of the last decade. And we’re not slowing down! We’re always welcoming new places to eat, drink and stay in the City of Napa to give visitors and locals something new to do. Here’s a look at what’s new in the City of Napa.

The newest hotel to come to downtown Napa is set to open this October. The Archer Hotel Napa will feature 143 rooms and 40 balcony-clad suites spanning five stories and a sweeping 360-degree view of the City of Napa from its expansive rooftop. The rooftop will feature a spa, fitness studio and ledge pool with cabanas and fireplaces. Charlie Palmer Steak will be the hotel’s signature restaurant and also provide the culinary direction for the 17,000-plus square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.

As we mentioned, Chef Charlie Palmer will open Charlie Palmer Steak  at the Archer Hotel in downtown Napa in 2017. Menus will incorporate a bold American style with inspiration from the surrounding Napa Valley agriculture and viticulture regions. Rooted in the pursuit of the best ingredients and a straightforward approach in the kitchen, Charlie Palmer Steak Napa showcases artisanal American beef under the influence of local wines and country flavors. Palmer and team will also oversee the culinary direction of the rooftop bar, poolside and in-room dining, as well as private events for the Archer Hotel.

The CIA at Copia has two new tasting and dining experiences for guests. New programs this summer include: The Tasting Showcase and The Box Office. The Tasting Showcase allows guests to try distinctive wines from Napa Valley and beyond in the facility’s atrium on custom-made bars. Wineries will rotate quarterly. The Box Office serves specialty sandwiches, garden salads using ingredients picked from the Copia Gardens, and soft serve ice cream.

We’re fired up for Live Fire Pizza! Napa’s newest Oxbow Public Market resident opened in June and serves up dine-in or to-go California style wood-fired pizza, Italian sandwiches, local salads and baked goods. Liza Shaw, former executive chef of San Francisco’s A16 and consultant to Redd Wood in Yountville, was enlisted for Live Fire’s menu development and chef team training. Pair your pizza with beer or wine and grab a seat on the patio overlooking the scenic vistas.

Napa Noodles, from the owners of Eiko’s and Eiko’s at Oxbow, opened in June on First Street. A pacific rim style restaurant, Napa Noodles fuses the delicious taste of Asian noodles with Napa Valley cuisine. Specialties include house made noodles, savory soups, slow roasted meats, seasonal salads, flavorful rice dishes, Asian beers, saké and local wines. Napa Noodles is the locals’ go-to for affordable Asian dining.

Take your fitness up a notch with Napa Valley Paddle. This local stand-up paddleboard (SUP) company has started to offer SUP fitness classes, SUP yoga, paddle picnics and conservation excursions. Be sure to check out their website and join their next fitness class.
